                                     Kayaking  Merit Badge 

WHEN: Saturday April 12, 2025

TIME: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

WHERE: CAMP ELMORE AQUATICS PAVILION

COST: FREE

LIMIT 10 YOUTH AGES 14 AND OLDER REGISTERED IN SOUTH FLORIDA COUNCIL.

PREQUISITES:

• Must be registered as a member of South Florida Council
• Must be 14 at time of registration
• Must be a BSA Swimmer, must have proof of Swim Test dated April 13, 2024 – March 29, 2025 OR Scout take Scouting America Swim Test. Proof of Swim Test must be received no later than March 15, 2025. The Swim Test will will additionally be offered on- Saturday- March 29, 2025             SWIM TEST TIME: 5:00 PM- Scout Must e-mail to pre register for the Swim Test

WHERE: CAMP ELMORE AQUATICS PAVILLION

Scouting America Swim Test Requirements: Jump feet first into water over the head in depth. Level off and swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: sidestroke, breaststroke, trudgen, or crawl; then swim 25 yards using an easy, resting backstroke. The 100 yards must be completed in one swim without stops and must include at least one sharp turn. After completing the swim, rest by floating.
