Hi- The 2022 event is cancelled due to safety concerns for our Scouting Families from the Tropical Storm. All payments will be refunded. Please contact with any questions. Our Scouts safety remains our primary concern during all Council activities.
Phoenix District Fishing Derby

What is it? The Phoenix District Fishing Derby is open to Cub Scouts to learn skills like safety around lakes, tying knots, casting, bait preparation, baiting hooks, fish identification, proper fish release methods. All fishing is Catch & Release. Bait will be available. Bring your own fishing rod, for families without a rod, we do have several extra.
When & Where? Saturday, June 5th from 9:00 am to 2 pm.
This event will be held at the IGFA International Game Fishing Association
Supervision? Each child must be supervised by a parent or adult leader at all times. Adults are $ 5.00
Cost? Early Bird Fee is $ 7.00 per participant, this includes Cub Scouts and Siblings if paid by May 22nd.
Refunds? Refunds are not available, but fees are transferable to another Scout or sibling at this event if is notified by Friday, June 3rd, Noon.
Registration? Online registration available until May 31 st
What to Bring? Depending on your needs bring: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water bottle, rain gear, insect repellent, a great attitude and a camera to record all the fun you will have!
When you bring your own fishing rod please note that circle hooks are allowed and we will have bait available, you can also bring rubber worms/flukes or jigs.
lures with treble hooks or J-hooks are not allowed. We will have extra circle hooks available.
