Scoutmaster – Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills   

What? IOLS is the Outdoor Portion of Scoutmaster Training, it usually follows a Leader taking the Indoor portion of the Scoutmaster Troop Training. The course is designed to give all Leaders the outdoor skills needed to carry out the Troop Program for our Scouts.

Why? Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scouts BSA Troops in order to be considered “trained”.

This course is recommended for Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Committee Members and Arrow of Light (5th Grade) Leaders.

Registration will open by January 1st, 2026

Event is April 11th and April 12th , 2026

 

Cost is only $ 35 until March 29, 2026, afterwards it is $ 55 if space is available.

All registration closes online on April 7th, 2026.
