          2025 Phoenix Fishing Derby

We are sorry to inform you that the Phoenix Fishing Derby has been canceled. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances have made it necessary to cancel this year’s event.

If you have already purchased tickets, refunds will be issued in full back to the credit card used to make your payment. You do not need to take any additional action;

We know many of you were looking forward to this event, and we truly appreciate your support and enthusiasm. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you at future Scouting activities in our district.

What is it?             The Phoenix Fishing Derby is open to Cub Scouts  to learn skills like safety around lakes, tying knots, casting, bait preparation, baiting hooks, fish identification, proper fish release methods. All fishing is Catch & Release. All Fishing Gear and Bait will be provided .

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND

When & Where?   Saturday, October 04, 2025

Registration is from 8:00 AM to 8:55 AM.

Event begins promptly at  9 AM– (You don’t want to be late)

The event runs from from 8:00 AM to 2 PM.

Get ready for a fun-filled day of fishing and learning! The Phoenix Fishing Derby is open to Cub Scouts and is the perfect opportunity to build outdoor skills like:

  • Lake safety
  • Knot tying
  • Casting
  • Bait prep & hook baiting
  • Fish ID & proper catch-and-release techniques

All gear and bait will be provided by IGFA — please leave your fishing poles and bait at home.

Lunch is included for all PAID participants.

All youth will receive a event patch

Supervision?    Each child must be supervised by a parent or adult leader at all times.

Cost:

All Adults are $ 8.00 to attend until October 1st or until full.

 

Youth Fee is $15  per participant, this includes Cub Scouts, Friends and Siblings if paid by September 16th, 2025,

or until full.    After September 16th  all youth are $ 20 until October 1st– or until full.

All online registration will stop once full or on October 1st.

Register timely for the best price. Pricing will NOT be extended.

 

Refunds?           Refunds are not available, but fees are transferable to another Scout or sibling at this event if    is notified by Monday, September 29, 2025 by NOON

What to Bring?     Depending on your needs bring: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses,  water bottle,  rain gear, insect repellent, a great attitude and a camera to record all the fun you will have!
